Inspired Sticker Design: Adobe Illustrator
Date
October 2023
Project type
Adobe Illustrator
Location
University of Georgia
For this project, I drew inspiration from the brand Bobbie Goods, known for their "delightfully nostalgic" aesthetic. The brand's recent virality, fueled by charming, childlike coloring books, captivated my attention. I often found myself engrossed in TikTok videos showcasing completed coloring books, time-lapse coloring sessions, and comparisons of how different people colored the same page. This unique and heartwarming content served as the perfect muse for my design.
I began with a mood board, compiling screenshots from Bobbie Goods' website and social media. Noticing the absence of stickers featuring the brand's name, I decided to create a design that filled this gap. Starting with a small character illustration, I traced the outline using the curvature tool. For the "Bobbie Goods" text, I modified a standard typeface into bubble letters, enhancing their playful appeal.
After peer critiques, I added flowers and adjusted the layout to achieve a distinctive shape and color combination. The result was a sticker that seamlessly blended the character and text, embodying the brand's whimsical and nostalgic charm. This project not only honed my design skills but also inspired me to consider creating my own coloring book using Illustrator and InDesign.
Overall, I am proud of this design and believe it effectively captures the essence of Bobbie Goods while showcasing my ability to create engaging and memorable graphics.
